Israel will reopen the Kerem Shalom border crossing with the Gaza Strip on Tuesday to allow the gradual entry of humanitarian aid, according to the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories. The crossing had been closed since the start of the recent Israeli-American operation against Iran on Saturday.
The decision was made following a security assessment and in coordination with the American Civil Military Coordination Center. Israeli authorities said the reopening will take place under security restrictions to ensure the safety of those present on both sides of the crossing. The Rafah crossing between Gaza and Egypt will remain closed.
