At least 15 residents of Ghaziabad are believed to be stranded in Iran, Bahrain and Dubai amid escalating tensions in West Asia. The Ghaziabad district administration has issued helpline numbers and set up a control room to gather information from families and coordinate assistance if required. Officials said the details received so far are being verified and forwarded to the state government for further action.
District administrations across Uttar Pradesh, including Gautam Budh Nagar, have launched similar outreach efforts as a precautionary measure. Authorities are seeking information about residents living, working, travelling or recently returned from affected countries to ensure timely communication and preparedness in case evacuations or other interventions become necessary.
The conflict has caused anxiety among families across the state, with workers and students reporting disruptions such as flight suspensions, restricted movement, emergency alerts and intermittent communication. Officials have urged families to rely on verified information, while Indian embassies in the affected countries have advised nationals to remain indoors and follow local safety guidelines.
