IDF reveals how Israel, US divide strike zones, target types amid Iran conflict

The Israeli military has detailed how it is coordinating with the United States military in the ongoing campaign against Iran, dividing responsibilities by geography, target type, and operational strengths. Israeli forces have focused on ballistic missile launchers and other military assets in western and central Iran, areas from which long range missiles have been fired toward Israel. Meanwhile, American forces have concentrated on southern Iran, targeting missile launchers used to strike American bases in the Gulf region.

The two militaries have also split responsibilities by target category. The United States has taken the lead in targeting the entire Iranian navy, while Israel has prioritized regime sites in Tehran and other objectives aligned with its strategic advantages. Israeli officials said this division of labor reflects each side’s relative capabilities.

American support has been critical in aerial refueling operations, with dozens of American refueling aircraft deployed to Israel. More than 1,000 American troops are currently stationed in the country, and joint coordination cells in both nations are synchronizing intelligence, targeting, and defense efforts. Israeli officials described the campaign as the first full scale joint war between the two countries, marked by daily communication between their top military commanders.
