Pakistan has strongly condemned the storming of the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in East Jerusalem by Israeli forces, describing it as a direct assault on the sanctity and historical character of the holy site. The statement came after Israel's far-right National Security Minister toured the mosque courtyard under heavy security, a move that sparked widespread anger.

Israeli authorities have barred Palestinians from worshipping at the mosque since February 28, citing security concerns. The closure coincided with joint airstrikes by Israel and the United States against Iran and continued through the holy month of Ramadan and the Eid Al-Fitr holiday.

Pakistan said the action violated international law and relevant United Nations resolutions, rejecting any attempts to alter the site's established religious and legal status. It urged the international community to take urgent steps to prevent further provocations and reiterated support for the Palestinian people's right to self-determination and the establishment of an independent state based on pre-June 1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.
