Trump Cancels Aides' Trip for Iran Talks, Saying, 'We Have All the Cards.'

President Trump abruptly canceled a planned trip by two senior advisers to Islamabad for talks aimed at ending the war in Iran, saying, 'We have all the cards.' The advisers had been scheduled to travel as part of mediation efforts led by Pakistan, but the president said there was no point in making a long journey for unproductive discussions.

The cancellation underscores how far apart Washington and Tehran remain after more than a month of conflict. Previous diplomatic efforts have failed to produce a breakthrough, and key disputes persist over Iran's nuclear program and its stockpile of enriched uranium. Tensions also remain high over control of the Strait of Hormuz, a critical global oil shipping route.

Iranian officials had recently held talks in Islamabad with Pakistani leaders but left without any apparent progress. Although the United States extended a ceasefire to give Tehran time to propose a new framework, both sides remain locked in a stalemate despite significant military and economic pressure.
