A spokesperson for the Israeli military said that a high school student in Lebanon contacted him on Facebook, jokingly asking for her school in the Beirut area to be bombed because it allegedly contained weapons belonging to Hezbollah. The message quickly spread on social media, drawing attention to the claim.
The school responded with a statement warning that any student who harms the institution or violates the law could face legal consequences. It added that an investigation is underway to determine the identity of the student involved.
The military spokesperson urged the school administration not to punish the student, suggesting instead that staff speak with students through dialogue in case they are facing pressure or distress. He also called on young people to report any dangers to their parents or relevant authorities, accusing Hezbollah of endangering their future and safety.
