Israeli airstrikes in southern Lebanon killed at least nine people, including two children, according to the health ministry. Twenty three others were wounded, among them eight children and seven women, as attacks continued into the second week of a ceasefire.
Israel said the strikes targeted Hezbollah infrastructure. Despite the truce announced on 16 April following direct talks between Lebanese and Israeli ambassadors in Washington, military operations have persisted.
Hezbollah said it responded with attacks on Israeli forces in southern Lebanon, including a drone strike on soldiers in the Bint Jbeil district. The renewed exchanges have raised concerns about the stability of the fragile ceasefire.
