Israel's official Arabic-language account on a social media platform released new data highlighting education statistics for the country's Muslim population in honor of Eid al-Adha. Citing figures from the Central Bureau of Statistics, the post reported that Muslims make up nearly 19 percent of Israel's population, with a growth rate of 1.8 percent and the largest concentration residing in Jerusalem.
The data showed that more than three-quarters of nearly 409,000 Muslim students qualify for the Bagrut high school diploma, while close to 50,000 are enrolled in higher education institutions across the country. The report placed particular emphasis on the academic progress of Muslim women.
According to the statistics, female Muslim students outnumber male students by more than double in first-degree university enrollment, a detail described as surprising information. The post also noted that just over half of the Muslim population participates in the labor force, with men participating at significantly higher rates than women, and invited readers to share comparable data from their own countries.
