The meeting followed a quick visit by Clearfield and focused on strengthening cooperation during a sensitive period for the country.
Clearfield leads a committee that monitors a United States-backed ceasefire between Israel and the Iran-backed group Hezbollah. Discussions also addressed ways to enhance the effectiveness of the monitoring mechanism and improve its work.
Both sides emphasized the importance of the Lebanese army’s role in maintaining stability and stressed the need for continued support to the military as it navigates ongoing security challenges.
