An Israeli strike on the southern Lebanese town of Saksakiyeh killed at least seven people, including a child, and wounded 15 others, among them three children, according to Lebanon's health ministry. Another strike in the city of Nabatieh reportedly killed a Syrian man and critically injured his 12-year-old daughter after what officials described as multiple drone attacks.
The violence comes amid continued exchanges of fire between Israeli forces and Hezbollah despite a ceasefire announced on 16 April by the president of the United States. Hezbollah said it launched a drone toward northern Israel in response to ongoing strikes, and the Israeli military reported that three reservists were wounded, one seriously.
Lebanese authorities say more than 120 people have been killed in Israeli attacks over the past week, while more than 2,700 have died since early March. Israel says it is targeting Hezbollah infrastructure and maintaining a security zone along the border, where villages have been heavily damaged, as cross-border hostilities persist.
