Indian mountaineer Shradha Gupta is advancing in her Mount Everest expedition after successfully summiting Mount Manaslu, the world’s eighth-highest mountain at 8,163 metres. She reached the Manaslu summit on September 26, 2025, alongside elite guide Tenji Sherpa, marking her first successful climb of a peak above 8,000 metres in the extreme high-altitude 'death zone.'
In just three years, Gupta has progressed from recreational hiking to high-altitude mountaineering, previously climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, Mount Elbrus, and Aconcagua, as well as completing the Everest Base Camp trek. Her Manaslu ascent establishes her as an emerging Indian name in endurance mountaineering.
Based in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates, Gupta leads corporate business for the Middle East at a major international bank and only began serious climbing after the coronavirus pandemic. Her rapid rise in the sport highlights a story of starting late yet advancing quickly, inspiring aspiring climbers and professionals alike as she now sets her sights on the world’s highest peak.
