Israel Defense Forces Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir has approved plans to continue military operations against Hezbollah in Lebanon following a situational assessment. During visits to the Northern Command and the 401st Armored Brigade, Zamir said the military is determined to deepen its campaign and is striking Hezbollah across multiple dimensions.
Zamir emphasized that the security of residents and the safety of troops remain the top priority. He also stated that the military is prepared to immediately resume intense fighting against Iran if necessary, aiming to further weaken what he described as the Iranian terror regime and its capabilities.
His remarks come as the United States and Iran work toward a potential peace agreement that could include a halt to fighting in Lebanon. Zamir also praised the 401st Brigade for its operations and wished a speedy recovery to its commander, who was seriously wounded in southern Lebanon last week.
