Israel Defense Forces launched a new wave of airstrikes across Lebanon, targeting more than 70 Hezbollah infrastructure sites with approximately 85 munitions. In the Tyre area, the military said it struck command centers, weapons storage facilities, and other infrastructure, and reported killing Hezbollah members operating on motorcycles. Additional strikes targeted sites in the Beqaa Valley and other areas.
Lebanon’s National News Agency reported that at least seven people were killed and several others wounded in the attacks. Airstrikes in Machgharah reportedly killed five people and left others trapped under rubble, while another strike in Kouthariyeh el Siyad killed two people and injured two more.
Following the escalation, Israel imposed new restrictions in northern border communities, limiting outdoor and indoor gatherings and closing schools until further notice. The intensified campaign comes after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered the military to increase pressure on Hezbollah, amid indications that the United States would support a broader operation as cross-border attacks continue to rise.
