Israir, an Israeli airline, is preparing to launch non-stop flights to New York next year after receiving preliminary approval from the US Department of Transportation. Israir will join other airlines in the Tel Aviv-New York corridor, including El Al, United Airlines, Delta Air Lines, and Arkia. The airline plans to begin operations on the route by Passover, operating six flights per week between Tel Aviv and New York. Israir will lease an Airbus A330 for the new long-haul route, marking its return to the US market after more than a decade.
