The Iran-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen claimed to have shot down an American MQ-9 Reaper drone in Hajjah province and launched fresh assaults on two US Navy aircraft carriers. The group stated that the drone was targeted with a domestically produced surface-to-air missile, making it the seventh drone they have shot down this April. The Houthi spokesperson also claimed that they had initiated new offensives on the USS Harry S. Truman and the USS Carl Vinson, using cruise missiles and drones. Hostilities between the Houthis and the US have intensified in recent weeks.
