A Pune-based company lost Rs 6.5 crore in a Man-in-the-Middle cyber attack, making it one of the biggest cases of cyber fraud in Pune. The director of the company received an email on the company ID from another firm he did business with, requesting a payment. Believing the email to be legitimate, he initiated the transaction, but later discovered that fraudsters had altered the email address and bank account number. The victim failed to notice the changes, resulting in the loss of the money. The police are now investigating the case and trying to trace the money.
