The IDF's Unit 8200 used AI technology to locate and eliminate a Hamas terrorist hiding in tunnels under the Gaza Strip. The technology, developed a decade earlier, was enhanced by engineers in Unit 8200 to include AI capabilities. Israel intercepted the terrorist's communications and used AI-based audio tools to pinpoint his location. An airstrike was conducted, resulting in the death of the terrorist and other Hamas members, but also causing civilian casualties.
