Archaeologists at the Roman fort of Magna in northern England discovered a remarkably well-preserved leather shoe that provides new insights into Roman soldiers' footwear. The 32-centimeter shoe, along with other leather fragments, was found in a waterlogged trench, revealing Roman cobbling techniques and physical characteristics of soldiers.
