From Kyiv to Tehran: Why are so many Indian medical students stuck in war zones?

Many Indian medical students are studying abroad due to the high cost and difficulty of getting into medical colleges in India. Currently, around 1,500 Indian students studying medicine in Iran are facing challenges due to the war in the region, similar to past situations in Ukraine and Israel. The NEET exam was supposed to make medical admissions fair, but new issues have arisen, leading students to seek education in countries like Ukraine, China, and Russia.
