For the first time, the speaker of the United States House of Representatives has visited the West Bank. The trip was organized by a settler lobby group and a pro-Israeli advocacy organization, and was not an official government delegation. The speaker was accompanied by several members of Congress, a state governor, and representatives of the sponsoring organizations. During the visit, the group met with local municipal leaders in the region known as Judea and Samaria.
