Adelphi University in New York has placed its Students for Justice in Palestine chapter on disciplinary probation for one year after determining that the group's social media posts created a hostile environment for Jewish students. The university flagged several posts, including messages that referenced the intifada and described Israel and its supporters in inflammatory terms. The chapter will face increased scrutiny and must meet with officials to discuss appropriate social media use, with further violations risking suspension or loss of recognition. The decision follows similar actions taken by other universities against Students for Justice in Palestine chapters over anti-Israel activities and alleged policy violations. Professor Tuval Foguel, who filed the complaint, welcomed Adelphi's decision but urged further action to combat antisemitism on campuses.
