Professor Asa Kasher, the philosopher behind the ethical code of the Israeli military, has firmly dismissed claims that the military is committing genocide in Gaza. In a recent interview, Kasher emphasized that while there have been instances of inappropriate behavior among soldiers, he has not seen any evidence that amounts to genocide. He noted that international media frequently send him videos for review, and although he has observed improper actions, none have met the threshold for genocide.
Kasher also addressed concerns about the treatment of Gaza residents, stating that his primary focus is on the conduct of soldiers and the situation of hostages, rather than international opinion. He stressed the importance of commanders correcting any deviations from military values and highlighted the need for transparency in presenting military conduct to the world.
