Egypt is set to increase its natural gas production to 6.6 billion cubic feet per day by 2027, according to Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly. The country has faced declining output since 2022, which led to reliance on costly imports. The drop in production was largely attributed to a shortage of hard currency, limiting payments to international oil companies. Recent efforts to pay off arrears have encouraged foreign investment, with Egypt aiming to restore previous production levels within the next two years.
