Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has announced the inclusion of honey in the Bhavantar Bharpai Yojana, a move aimed at guaranteeing fair prices for honey producers and encouraging scientific beekeeping across the state. A new honey sales and storage facility with quality testing will be set up at the Integrated Beekeeping Development Centre in Ramnagar, along with a Quality Control Laboratory costing Rs 20 crore. The Ramnagar institute, developed with Israeli collaboration, will be elevated to a national-level research center for apiculture. The government is also offering significant subsidies and training to promote beekeeping, with an ambitious target to prepare thousands of beekeepers and increase honey production by 2030. The initiative is part of a broader push to diversify rural incomes and empower youth and women entrepreneurs to enter the honey industry and explore global markets.
