Defense Minister Israel Katz has approved a new military operation in Gaza City, named 'Gideon's Chariots 2', following the previous campaign that resulted in significant territorial gains and the weakening of Hamas forces. The plan, presented by Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir and senior military officials, includes the mobilization of an additional sixty thousand reservists, raising the total to one hundred thirty thousand, to support the upcoming assault. Humanitarian measures have also been authorized to facilitate the evacuation of residents expected to move southward at the onset of the attack, aiming to isolate Hamas operatives. Military leaders anticipate that control over Gaza City could be achieved within two months, though extended deployment of reservists may be necessary to eliminate remaining threats and secure the area.
