At least seventeen people have died in two separate violent incidents in Colombia. In the Antioquia region, a police helicopter assisting with coca leaf harvesting was attacked by a drone, resulting in the deaths of twelve police officers and injuries to seven others. Authorities believe the Gulf Clan drug cartel was behind the attack, citing retaliation for a recent cocaine seizure.

In a separate event in Cali, a car bomb exploded near a military aviation school, killing five people and injuring over thirty. The Colombian military has yet to provide further details about the explosion. President Gustavo Petro announced that a suspected cartel member was arrested following the helicopter attack.
