Man wins claim after he was told to remove 'far right' accusation

A Muslim recruitment manager, Abdalah Al-Abasi, has won a religious harassment case after being told by his employer to remove a LinkedIn post accusing another professional of holding far right views. The post was made in response to inflammatory comments about Muslims following the Southport murders, which sparked unrest and online speculation about the assailant's background. The employment tribunal found that Mr Al-Abasi had reasonable grounds to take offence at the original post and that his employer created an intimidating and hostile environment by demanding he take down his response. Mr Al-Abasi will receive compensation for injury to feelings, with the amount to be determined later, though other claims he made were not upheld.
