Cycling team Israel-Premier Tech faced disruption during the team time trial at the Vuelta a Espana when pro-Palestine protestors blocked their route in Figueres, Spain. The demonstrators held flags and banners, causing the team to slow down and some riders to stop almost completely before continuing the race. Despite extra police presence, officers were unable to clear the protestors before the team arrived, impacting their performance and resulting in a 19th place finish out of 23 teams.
UAE Team Emirates won the stage, while Jonas Vingegaard reclaimed the leader's jersey. The incident follows similar protests at other major cycling events, highlighting ongoing tensions surrounding the team's participation. Organizers of the Vuelta have been approached for comment.
