The Home Secretary has vowed to close the 'gap in the law' on protests after a wave of pro-Palestine demonstrations took place in the wake of the Manchester synagogue attack. New laws will grant police more powers to restrict and place conditions on protests, especially those causing cumulative disruption. The Government will amend the Public Order Act 1986 to give officers additional authority to clamp down on repeat protests.
