Eitan Nitzan, a reservist in the engineering battalion of Division 6, recently visited the exact location in the Gaza Strip where his brother, Gilad Nitzan, was killed in action last November. Eitan held a small memorial with fellow soldiers, reciting the traditional prayer for the bereaved, and later participated in demolishing the house where the ambush that killed his brother took place.
Eitan spoke about the sense of mission and unity among the soldiers, emphasizing the strong bonds formed between religious and non-religious members of his unit. Leaders from the Elon Moreh yeshiva and community reflected on the sacrifices made by their students and the enduring values of dedication, unity, and responsibility that guide them through times of loss. The story of Gilad and his comrades continues to inspire their community and reinforce their commitment to their values.
