An Egyptian team is heading to Gaza to help locate the bodies of deceased hostages, following pressure from the United States. Previously, Israel had refused entry to foreign teams, insisting that Hamas could return the bodies without outside help. Earlier attempts by Turkish rescue personnel to enter Gaza were also blocked by Israel. Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi has made a personal pledge to assist in retrieving the bodies, highlighting the issue at a recent peace summit in Sharm el-Sheikh. Meanwhile, the United States is currently restraining Israel from imposing sanctions or taking further action over the delay, as Hamas has not returned any bodies for three consecutive days.
