An auction featuring over 600 artefacts from Nazi concentration camps, including personal letters and medical documents from Auschwitz and Dachau, has been cancelled following widespread condemnation. Polish and German officials, along with Holocaust survivor groups, criticized the sale as disrespectful to the victims and called for measures to prevent similar auctions in the future. The artefacts, which include items from Buchenwald and Auschwitz, are considered by many to be of significant historical and emotional value and should be preserved in museums or memorials rather than sold privately. Poland's culture ministry has announced an investigation into the provenance of the items to determine if any should be returned to Poland.
