The graffiti, painted on the Supreme Court building, included a slur and a crossed-out Star of David, widely interpreted as a reference to Sheinbaum, Mexico's first Jewish president. The protest, led by youth, was a response to rising violence and corruption, and resulted in multiple arrests and injuries. International leaders, including Israel's foreign minister, also denounced the incident, emphasizing the need to reject all forms of antisemitism. President Sheinbaum has faced previous references to her Jewish background from political opponents, despite not making her heritage a central part of her public life.
