Israeli authorities have filed indictments against seven individuals accused of operating a sophisticated weapons-smuggling network from Syria into Israel. The group allegedly exploited the ongoing conflict in southern Syria to traffic pistols, rifles, ammunition, and rocket-propelled grenades, often disguising their activities as humanitarian aid missions. The indictments detail how the suspects coordinated with residents of the Syrian village of Khadr and recruited Israeli soldiers to facilitate the smuggling operations. Plans to import heavier military weapons were thwarted by the arrests of the suspects before the weapons could cross the border.
