Young dogs are being trained as guide dogs at Ben-Gurion University, where they accompany their foster families—mainly students—through daily campus life. These students juggle their academic responsibilities with the significant task of socializing and preparing the puppies for their future roles. Each year, around 150 puppies start their journey at the Israel Guide Dog Center, with a substantial number spending their formative year at Ben-Gurion. The university has become the largest hub for student foster families in the country, reflecting a unique blend of education, volunteerism, and compassion.
