Egypt is actively training Palestinian police officers to prepare them for managing security in Gaza after the current conflict ends, according to a senior Palestinian source. Over 500 officers have already completed training in Egypt, with more undergoing similar programs. Egypt's plan is to train and equip a total of 5,000 Palestinian officers for deployment in Gaza. This initiative is part of an agreement between Palestinian factions, facilitated by Egypt, to establish a technocratic government in Gaza that will integrate both newly trained officers and those who previously served under the former administration. The training and deployment are being coordinated with the Palestinian Authority, which will also be responsible for the officers' salaries.
