The government has set the defense budget for 2026 at 112 billion shekels, following extensive negotiations between the Defense and Finance Ministries. This figure is notably lower than the initial request from the defense establishment. Over the next decade, an additional 350 billion shekels will be allocated to defense, separate from the annual budget. The agreement also includes provisions to ease the burden on reservists and a separate three-year package of 725 million shekels for security infrastructure in Judea and Samaria. The full state budget for 2026 is expected to be approved soon, after agreements with several other ministries.
