After 661 days since the disappearance of Haymanut Kasau, authorities have arrested a suspect in connection with her case. Judge Dorit Saban‑Noy extended the suspect's remand, citing reasonable suspicion and concerns about possible interference with the investigation. The suspect, a long‑time resident of Be'er Sheva, is also linked to a recent attempted abduction in the same city and was previously known to the family involved.
During questioning, the suspect claimed he was no longer living at the immigration center in Safed at the time Kasau went missing, having moved with his family to Be'er Sheva in 2022. The investigation continues as officials work to uncover more details surrounding the disappearance.
