The Jerusalem Municipality and the military have scheduled a pre-induction recruitment fair for new recruits at Cinema City in Jerusalem, coinciding with the Tenth of Tevet fast. The event aims to streamline recruitment procedures and offer guidance from various corps, with additional support booths available for personal assistance and deferment processing.

The decision to hold the fair on a significant religious fast has drawn criticism from religious and haredi candidates, who feel it disregards their values and observance. Deputy Mayor Aryeh King condemned the scheduling, calling it disrespectful and vowing to protest if the event proceeds as planned.

Both the municipality and the military have shifted responsibility for the timing, each claiming the other set the date. They clarified that two identical recruitment days are being held, allowing those observing the fast to attend on the alternative date.
