A 15-year-old British schoolgirl, Charlotte Niddam, has been confirmed as one of the victims of the New Year's Eve fire at the Crans-Montana ski resort bar in Switzerland. Charlotte, who also held French and Israeli nationality, was identified with the assistance of Israeli emergency services. Her family expressed their grief on social media, and her former school community in the United Kingdom has rallied in support.
The fire claimed the lives of 40 people, more than half of whom were teenagers, with victims from several countries. Authorities have now completed the identification of all those who died. Mourners, including emergency workers, gathered at a memorial service near the site of the tragedy, as the community continues to grieve the loss of so many young lives.
