Striker, a United States-based venture fund, has officially launched operations in Israel with a focus on early-stage cybersecurity startups. The fund, which raised $165 million in October, has appointed Matan Lamdan, a specialist in cybersecurity investments, as its Israeli partner. Striker was founded by Max Gazor, formerly a senior partner at one of the world's oldest venture capital firms, and most of its partners are alumni from the same firm.
Striker's investment model is unique in Israel, as it plans to invest in only 10 companies, with each investment ranging from $5 million to $30 million. The fund targets startups at the pre-seed, seed, or Series A stages, all of which will have no revenue at the time of investment. Half of the selected companies are expected to be Israeli, highlighting the country's growing prominence in the cybersecurity sector.
