Elbit Systems has secured new contracts worth $150 million from Sweden's BAE Systems Hägglunds to supply its Iron Fist Active Protection System for integration into CV90 Infantry Fighting Vehicles. This move marks a significant step in enhancing ground vehicle defense capabilities for several European member states. The agreement follows a successful live-fire demonstration in Europe, where Iron Fist intercepted advanced kinetic energy tank rounds, showcasing its effectiveness against modern battlefield threats.
Iron Fist is designed to provide comprehensive protection against a range of anti-armor threats, including rockets, guided missiles, unmanned aerial systems, and loitering munitions. The system's compact design and high performance have led to its selection by various armed forces for use on multiple combat platforms. Elbit Systems' leadership highlighted the growing trust in Iron Fist's capabilities and the importance of its partnership with BAE Systems Hägglunds in expanding its presence across Europe.
