Belgium has stopped providing consular services to its citizens living in Israeli settlements beyond the pre-1967 boundary known as the Green Line. The Belgian Consulate in Jerusalem and Embassy in Tel Aviv will no longer issue or renew passports, register births and marriages, or facilitate voting for these residents. This action follows a government decision from September 2025, which introduced several policy measures related to Belgium's conditional recognition of a Palestinian state. While full recognition has not occurred due to unmet conditions, Belgium has started to implement other aspects of its policy.
