Chinese food companies are making a significant push into the Indian market at Indusfood 2026 in Greater Noida, registering the largest foreign presence at the global trade expo. Fifteen Chinese exhibitors are showcasing a wide range of products, including canned vegetables, chickpeas, and instant noodles tailored to Indian tastes, with vegetarian, non-fried, and less spicy options. The event also features food businesses from Iran, the Netherlands, Egypt, Palestine, Brazil, Azerbaijan, and Greece, offering products such as olives, pickles, baklava, kunafa, sugarcane-based spirits, and premium rice. The expo was inaugurated by the Union minister for food processing industries, who highlighted India's potential to become a global food basket and the importance of converting surplus production into value. Alongside food, the Hong Kong pavilion is presenting traditional Chinese medicine products, while the India-UAE Food Corridor was launched to boost food security and bilateral trade.
