A violent incident erupted in Bnei Brak during an event organized by the Hashmonaim Brigade for parents of ultra-Orthodox soldiers. Several dozen ultra-Orthodox extremists attempted to disrupt the meeting, resulting in two soldiers being slightly injured and the brigade commander needing to be escorted away by police. The army condemned the violence, emphasizing support for its commanders and soldiers. Additional protests took place in Beit Shemesh, where demonstrators blocked a major highway, and police intervened to restore order. Tensions have risen in recent weeks, with a number of ultra-Orthodox recruits currently held in military prisons for draft evasion.
