A police operation in the Negev region ended with the death of a man in his mid-20s who was suspected of smuggling weapons. Officers from the Southern District Major Crimes Unit identified a vehicle near the Ar'ara Bedouin encampments and initiated a pursuit after the driver attempted to flee. During the chase, shots were fired at the vehicle's tires and an M16-type weapon was discarded from the car. The suspect lost control of the vehicle, resulting in a fatal accident. Paramedics pronounced the man dead at the scene due to severe injuries. The incident drew support from the Minister of National Security, who praised the police's ongoing efforts against crime in the region.
