India and the United Arab Emirates have taken a significant step forward in their relationship by signing a letter of intent for a strategic defence partnership during President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan's visit to New Delhi. The meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Al Nahyan resulted in several key agreements, including cooperation in space, a long-term liquefied natural gas purchase, and development of the Dholera special investment region in Gujarat. Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to doubling bilateral trade to two hundred billion dollars by 2032, enhancing civil nuclear cooperation, and establishing a supercomputing cluster in India. The defence partnership aims to expand collaboration in areas such as defence technology, training, special operations, and cybersecurity, reflecting the deepening ties and shared strategic interests between the two countries. The leaders also condemned terrorism and discussed regional initiatives, including the India-Middle East-Europe Corridor, while announcing new business operations and exploring the concept of Digital Embassies.
