Israeli soccer player Tay Abed has disclosed that he declined a lucrative contract from Emirati club Al Jazira. The deal, which could have earned him millions of euros and significant bonuses per match, was contingent on him renouncing his eligibility to play for the Israeli national team and representing the United Arab Emirates instead.
