A new report, The Israeli Red List of Butterflies, reveals that dozens of butterfly species in Israel are threatened with extinction. The study highlights significant dangers such as habitat loss, pesticide use, invasive species, wildfires, light pollution, and climate change. Of the 156 butterfly species documented, only 63 are currently not at risk, while the status of 55 species remains unclear due to insufficient data.
