The police have concluded the main stages of their investigation into the leak of a video from the Sde Teiman detention facility, which is connected to the former Military Advocate General. Despite the police legal adviser determining that the attorney general was not involved in the leak, the investigative materials have not yet been sent to Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara.
A recent meeting between the police commissioner and the investigative team reviewed the findings and clarified key issues, with police officials stressing that the commissioner did not interfere with the investigation. Given the public sensitivity of the case, the commissioner advocated for an external senior professional body to review all investigative actions, a step that aligns with Supreme Court precedents, though no such body has been appointed yet.
The police legal adviser has been instructed to update the Attorney General and the Justice Ministry, particularly regarding any potential conflicts of interest. The Justice Ministry is expected to issue a legal opinion, after which the investigative material will likely be transferred to an external body for further review and decisions on subsequent actions, which could include further investigations or indictments.
